Every 4th Thursday of the month we will discuss what lies beneath these pages and engage in conversation about the importance of the freedom of reading, which is essential to our democracy. During our first meeting we will be discussing 1984 by George Orwell. Pick up a copy at the circulation desk!

    Chunky knit blankets are all the rage lately and you'll be surprised how easy they are to make! The hand knitting technique is a life long skill that is therapeutic, meditative and fun. NEW: You may now choose your yarn amount! Are you coming just to learn the technique and only want one skein to practice on? We’ve got you! For blanket making, please view the photo below to see a rough estimate of what a blanket using 4 skeins (standard) looks like, 5 skeins, 6 skeins...etc. DISCLAIMER: Final blanket dimensions vary based on each individual's knitting gauge (ie., if you knit tight, your blanket will be smaller and more compact than someone who knits looser). Table space diminishes as blankets get larger. You are welcome to bring a small pillow or yoga mat to sit on, should you choose to move to the floor for more space as your blanket gets taller. Bags will not be provided. If you don't wish carry your project, we encourage you to bring a large tote to carry your blanket and any working yarn home in.     Mark Your Calendars for the Greater Fall River City Nature Challenge! April 24 to April 27, 2026 Join the Trustees and Mass Audubon for a free guided exploration of the Tattapanum Trail to celebrate Arbor Day! Participants will learn how to identify different species of trees and other wildlife during this experience, as a part of the kick-off to the Greater Fall River City Nature Challenge. The City Nature Challenge is a free worldwide event where the public helps conservation science by taking photos of wild organisms in their own city and uploading them to iNaturalist – a website dedicated to identifying wildlife, for everyone! In the Greater Fall River area, The Trustees and Mass Audubon are teaming up to make it simple for everyone to join in. We’re hosting four free guided walks through different local habitats and offering free iNaturalist trainings so educators and community leaders can confidently run their own BioBlitz-style walks.   • Meet The Little Mermaid!

    Direct from under the sea, the Little Mermaid will visit her friends on land in the very special Meet and Greet!  Ariel will read her story, pose for pictures and share some songs!  Children will also receive a glittery temporary tattoo!  A raffle for an Under the Sea gift basket of goodies will conclude the show.  For all ages.
