    Both returning and new members are invited to join us on the third Wednesday of each month for a different kind of book club--one with no required books to read! Instead, everyone can share their own recommendations of a book they're enjoyed recently as we meet for general book chat and afternoon tea. Light refreshments will be served.   • Asian Stab Bookbinding

    Fall River Public Library 104 North Main St, Fall River, MA

    Make a handmade stab bound book as a medium to display your art, illustrations, photographs or stories. We’ll go over basic tools of bookbinding and learn how to incorporate your own artwork in books. Participants are encouraged to bring their own writing or artwork (all same size) to bind or make a blank book to fill. No prior experience necessary. Space is limited; registration is required. Recommended for adults. Main learning objective/take-aways of the class: 1.Familiarize with basic bookbinding tools and bookbinding terminology 2.Learn the intrinsic qualities of paper and folding. 3. Discover ways to tell stories through the art of the book.

Recommended for ages 5 and up.

    Science fiction and fantasy lovers are invited to join us for our monthly book discussion group! On the third Thursday of each month, we will meet at 6 pm to talk about a different sci-fi or fantasy book, ranging from new titles to classics. Each month's selection will be announced on this calendar and at the previous meeting. In July, we are discussing The Goblin Emperor by Katherine Addison.
