Margaret L. Jackson Performing Arts Center At BCC 777 Elsbree St, Fall River, MA, United States

On April 25th at 7pm and April 26th at 1:30pm, Ballet Rhode Island makes its first-ever appearance at Bristol Community College, bringing the contemporary ballet program Pure Dance to the Margaret L. Jackson Arts Center! Tickets here. Striking contrast and kinetic beauty define Pure Dance, a bold celebration of what ballet can be today - athletic, expressive, and deeply human. Designed for both first-time dancegoers and seasoned audiences, the program offers a dynamic journey through contemporary ballet that highlights the moving body as both instrument and storyteller. From the effervescent brilliance of George Balanchine’s Allegro Brillante, to the meditative intimacy of Christopher Wheeldon’s Liturgy, to the raw contemporary pulse of Yury Yanowsky’s Fading Creatures, Pure Dance reveals ballet as an art form that is alive, relevant, and accessible. Set to gorgeous music and performed by Ballet RI’s professional artists, this unforgettable experience is just a short drive away, and an open invitation to come along for the ride. Following each performance, audiences are invited to stay for a Meet the Ballerina experience, offering a rare opportunity to connect directly with the artists, ask questions, and gain insight into the creative process behind the performance. • Bronwyn Keith-Hynes

Narrows Center for the Arts 16 Anawan St., Fall River, MA

Friday, May 1, 2026 $36 Advance | $38 Day of Show Doors 7pm | Show 8pm Grammy-winning fiddle virtuoso Bronwyn Keith-Hynes is stepping into the spotlight. After several years of wowing audiences as the fiddler for Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway, the 2x IBMA Fiddle Player of the Year is striking out on her own - fronting a band for the first time and bringing her voice to the forefront. Known for her fiery fiddle playing and pure, rootsy singing, Bronwyn Keith-Hynes’ debut vocal album ‘I Built A World’ earned her a Grammy nomination this past February, and American Songwriter calls her “a world-class fiddler with a golden voice.” Now, as her own entry in bluegrass history expands from celebrated instrumentalist to bandleader and front woman, Bronwyn isn’t just crafting a career in the image of genre greats like Sam Bush and Jerry Douglas; she’s bringing them along for the ride. Both Bush and Douglas are featured as players on I Built a World, and they’re not the only of Bronwyn’s musically-inclined pals and heroes to make an appearance on this star studded album. Keith-Hynes’ music blends high octane bluegrass sensibilities with the soul of country and American Roots music. Backed by […]

Narrows Center for the Arts 16 Anawan St., Fall River, MA

Saturday, May 2, 2026 $47 Advance | $49 Day of Show Doors 7pm | Show 8pm Punk and indie-rock collide for a special evening with John Doe of X and David Lowery of Cracker. As co-founder and bassist of X, John Doe helped define the sound of late-’70s Los Angeles punk, releasing six albums and carrying the band’s fiercely poetic, roots-infused spirit forward for nearly five decades, while also building a prolific solo career and appearing in more than 50 films and television projects. David Lowery, the acclaimed singer-songwriter behind Cracker and Camper Van Beethoven, has spent over 40 years shaping the indie-rock and alt-country landscape with iconic songs and a string of gold and platinum records, alongside his work as a producer, educator, and outspoken advocate for artists’ rights.  About John Doe: John Doe was born in 1977 when he arrived in Los Angeles. His previous life in Tennessee, Wisconsin & Baltimore was a great & fertile time but new music and social changes led him to events that created a life in art. He graduated from Antioch College in Baltimore in 1975, worked as a roofer, aluminum siding mechanic, and ran a poetry reading series. Ms. Meyers was his landlord in the […]
