Characters on the Farm

Coggeshall Farm Museum 1 Colt Drive, Bristol, RI

Bring your imagination and your favorite red slippers to the farm for our first Characters on the Farm day, featuring a Wizard of Oz theme. Costumed Wizard of Oz characters Dorothy, Glinda, Scarecrow, and Lion will interact with guests and pose for photos throughout the farm. There will also be some Wizard of Oz props for kids to try on and themed activities and crafts. Follow the hay bales into the farm on this one-of-a-kind adventure. Pre-registration is highly recommended, and tickets may sell out!

Planning With Your Whole Self In Your Art Practice

This is 2-part series (4 hours in person + 2 hours online). Artists are asked to attend both sessions. Participants will come away with the components of a personal and creative plan unique to their creative identity. This workshop will tackle the following topics: MISSION invites artists to consider the central reasons why they make art, what drives them, and what values they wish to center in their practice and their lives. MONEY begins to tease apart the sticky questions of how to make one’s practice sustainable and how different forms of income can support one’s broader work. TIME interweaves all of these and considers strategies for structuring one’s life to make space for creating in harmony with all the roles in one’s life. Participants should be prepared to actively engage with peers in a variety of group and partner discussions and exercises over the course of this series.
