This training is an important step toward creatives building a better business. This training has three sections: The first addresses banking services (except loans). The second covers financing options and sources available for creative small businesses. The third discusses how to avoid fraud and scams. After completing this module, the participants will be able to: Identify the banking services commonly available to a small business and explain how these services work. Identify the advantages and disadvantages of each of the banking services. Explain how small business owners decide which banking services are best for their business. Describe some benefits of building effective long-term relationships with a banker or lender. Describe the role of a personal credit score in the lending process. Explain the benefits of separating business and personal bank transactions This training session is presented by FRACC in partnership with Bristol County Savings Bank.

This June, The Heron Center is hosting our 2nd annual Summer Solstice Music Festival in collaboration with the Wicked Queer Puppet Theater. Our 2024 three day Festival will work together with local and national singer songwriters in support of raising awareness towards environmental justice and serve as a fundraiser to support three areas of our programs; Nature Conservation (for our 22 acre Wildlife Sanctuary - with free access for passive recreation to the public), Artist Residencies and Wellness Education (in hopes to provide a year-round educational facility in Westport

Reenactment Weekend

Coggeshall Farm Museum 1 Colt Drive, Bristol, RI

Times: Coggeshall Farm Museum is open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Cost: Included with standard daytime admission ($10 for adults, $5 for youth ages 4-17) or with Coggeshall Farm Museum membership or Old Sturbridge Village membership Coggeshall Farm Museum and Capt. Tew’s Company (2nd Rhode Island Regiment) happily present “The Bristol expedition,” August 17-18, 2024 at Coggeshall Farm in Bristol, RI. This will be a weekend-long living history program focused on Rhode Island in 1778 during the British Occupation of the Colony/State. The event will be interpreting the life of Troops and Followers on campaign during the American Revolution. The weekend will include multiple tactical demonstrations, lectures, a fashion show, artillery demonstrations, and domestic life during the American Revolution era.
