Building a Better Business Bootcamp

Do you own a small business? Are you looking to grow and create more sales? The Building a Better Business Program is designed to help individuals who are looking to grow their business in the Fall River area and beyond. The bootcamp is an in-person, day long event which covers the legal, marketing and financial responsibilities of running and growing a business. The end goal is for you to write a working business plan that will provide financial opportunities for your newest idea or growing business. This bootcamp gives small business owners the chance tocome together and learn as a group. Join us to collaborate, inspire and network with others who are looking to become your future community partner. Individuals in start-up phase are also welcome.

Uli Jon Roth & His Band – Interstellar Sky Guitar Tour 2024

Thursday, April 25, 2024 $47 Advance | $52 Day of Show Doors 7pm | Show 8pm Uli Jon Roth is a German guitarist who became famous for his work with the rock band Scorpions and is one of the earliest contributors to the neoclassical metal genre. As an artist, Uli is a phenomenon and his unique set of artistic talents has gained him an international reputation as a musical visionary and innovator early on in his career. After releasing four studio albums as well as the critically acclaimed live album “Tokyo Tapes” with Scorpions, Uli formed his own band called Electric Sun, which produced three albums each dedicated to a specific individual, those being, Jimi Hendrix, Anwar Sadat, and Martin Luther King. For this show at The Narrows, Uli will perform songs from his time with Scorpions and Electric Sun, along with Hendrix covers and his own solo material for an unforgettable night of music.

Join us for the Marion Art Center’s first ever “YArt” Sale! Come shop for lightly used art supplies, equipment, books, and teaching resources. The event will take place in the multipurpose room at Sippican Elementary School. Want to offload some art supplies? We’ll sell your unwanted materials! Vendor applications are due by Friday, April 19. The Marion Art Center will retain a 50% commission on all sales. Items must be in good condition and approved by our committee in advance. Items must be dropped off prior to the event (time TBA) at the event location and picked up at the same location after the event has ended. All vendors will pay a $25 registration fee once accepted, which will be refunded after vendors collect all unsold goods. Any uncollected items will be immediately donated, and the MAC will retain that vendor’s registration fee. Any no-show vendors will forfeit the registration fee. POESIA: A Celebration of Portuguese Poetry, Waterfront Walk & Reading

Please join us for A Celebration of Portuguese Poetry, Culture, and Fall River Poets as we honor the significant contributions made throughout history to local, national, and international arts and culture. This event opens with a Poetry Walk, meeting at the Gates of Fall River and our Sister City Ponta Delgada, Portugal. We will then proceed to The Monument of Poet João Teixeira de Medeiros at Heritage State Park. And, finally we will meet at the Heritage State Park Visitors Center, just steps away, for a Poetry Reading, a Bilingual Reading of Select Major Portuguese Poets, and a reading of award-winning poems from the Middle and High School Poetry Contest. This event is free and open to the public. Coggeshall Farm Museum 1 Colt Drive, Bristol, RI

Times: Coggeshall Farm Museum is open from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Cost: Included with standard daytime admission ($10 for adults, $5 for youth ages 4-17) or with Coggeshall Farm Museum membership or Old Sturbridge Village membership Come to Coggeshall Farm Museum and experience what life was like on an 18th-century farm, complete with a pair of visiting oxen! Jim and Bev Gould will be spending the weekend at the farm with their Old Ayrshire oxen, Ned and Buster. Together, they will demonstrate some of the tasks that oxen and their teamsters would have tended to on the farm in the 1790s. Watch the pair hard at work and have all of your oxen questions answered! Guests can also meet our sheep, pigs, and chickens, play simple games, explore our nature trail, and more.
