    Watercolor Workshop for Kids Artist and instructor Lana Quann of The Wandering Brush will guide children through making their own watercolor painting. Recommended for ages 6 and up (must be accompanied by an adult).     CALLING ALL teenage COMICS ENTHUSIASTS!!!! Do you like comics? Graphics novels? Manga? Webcomics? Some other combination of pictures and words?? Then the Young Adult Comics Club is the place for you! The second Thursday of each month we meet to discuss all things comics - making, thinking, reading, sharing, etc. Share your favorite manga with peers! Show off the comic you’ve been making to other comic artists! Finally start that cool comic idea you’ve been meaning to draw! Learn what comics are all about!!! Each month we will have an optional comic prompt to make and share for the following meeting. Make us some words and pictures!! For teens ages 13 - 18.

  • Upcycled Book Vase Craft

Events will include: Design and name your own Pokemon! In the Meeting Room 11:00 a.m to 12:00 p.m. Meet Pikachu!? Pokemon Scavenger Hunt! Front lawn 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.  Learn to Draw Pokemon! (Young Adults) Nagle Room 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.  Register to win a Pokemon Gift Basket filled with books and other goodies! (All day!)

  • Summer Yoga Series

    Enjoy a welcoming, beginner-friendly, all levels yoga flow experience. This class will open with a brief guided meditation. You’ll then be encouraged to move and awaken your body through yoga postures in an intuitive way that is accessible to you. A Synergy of Sound Healing Savasana (yogic nap) seals in this nurturing Sva Ha Yoga class. Guided by Andrea DeVeau-Cabral of Power and Grace Yoga (E-RYT 500hr). Please bring water and a yoga mat if possible.

    Remember spending summers tie-dyeing everything in sight? Relive the nostalgia during this fun and active adult tie-dye workshop on the library lawn! This program is sure to get a little messy, so wear clothes you would not mind accidentally getting dye on . Tote bags will be provided. In the event of inclement weather, the program will be moved to the Meeting Room. Supplies are limited; registration opens Friday, June 12th!

    Both returning and new members are invited to join us on the third Wednesday of each month for a different kind of book club--one with no required books to read! Instead, everyone can share their own recommendations of a book they're enjoyed recently as we meet for general book chat and afternoon tea. Light refreshments will be served.   • Asian Stab Bookbinding

    Fall River Public Library 104 North Main St, Fall River, MA

    Make a handmade stab bound book as a medium to display your art, illustrations, photographs or stories. We’ll go over basic tools of bookbinding and learn how to incorporate your own artwork in books. Participants are encouraged to bring their own writing or artwork (all same size) to bind or make a blank book to fill. No prior experience necessary. Space is limited; registration is required. Recommended for adults. Main learning objective/take-aways of the class: 1.Familiarize with basic bookbinding tools and bookbinding terminology 2.Learn the intrinsic qualities of paper and folding. 3. Discover ways to tell stories through the art of the book.

  • Writer’s Group Intensive Feedback Sessions

    Sponsored by the Fall River Public Library Writer’s Group, members have the opportunity to register for monthly feedback intensive sessions. Submit up to 30 pages for in-depth feedback from peers. You must attend at least three regular Writer’s Group meetings to be eligible for feedback intensives.     Journey back in time 250 years to our nation's beginning and discover what life was like in Fall River in 1776!  In hands-on-history fashion, children will explore how people dressed, worked, went to school and played in this engaging program featuring dozens of authentic artifacts and presented by David Jennings of the Lafayette/Durfee House in Fall River! Recommended for ages 5 and up.
