Magic: The Gathering Commander Club
Fall River Public Library 104 North Main St, Fall River, MATeens and adults ages 13 and up are invited to join us for a bi-weekly meetup to play Magic: The Gathering Casual Commander! Participants are invited to bring their own bracket 2-3 decks, borrow one of ours, or build their own with a selection of the hundreds of cards we have at the library. Don’t know how to play? We’ll be glad to show you how!

Photography Group
Fall River Public Library 104 North Main St, Fall River, MAThe Fall River Public Library invites all photography enthusiasts to join our new Photography Group. On the last Wednesday of each month, participants will share their work, provide feedback, and join in open discussion about the wonderful art of photography! A monthly, optional theme will be picked at random to help inspire and prompt our members to make new and exciting work to share each session. Participants are asked to bring in a thumbdrive of their work, with a selection of 5-10 photos, if they intend to share with the group that month. While we gladly accept photographers at all stages of their journeys, the Photography Group does not offer photography lessons. We do encourage our participants to ask questions about photography, and to share tips and tricks they’ve learned with each other. This program is intended for photographers ages 13 and up.

Voices Unheard – Free Chamber Music Concert
Fall River Public Library 104 North Main St, Fall River, MAVoices Unheard is a classical chamber ensemble that is doing a free, grant funded concert season throughout Massachusetts. Voices Unheard is striving to celebrate and promote the different ways that women contribute to the musical world. This organization operates under three major pillars, music of women in history’s past, the music of today’s female composers, and cultivating a future for women’s music of the future. The project utilizes funding to commission works for the wind repertoire by promising upcoming women composers. Women historically have struggled to access the same resources as their male counterparts in this field, and this ensemble seeks to provide the resources that a young professional would need to get their foothold in the field of music composition.

The Banned Book Club
Fall River Public Library 104 North Main St, Fall River, MAJoin The Banned Book Club - a place where we devour literature that has been historically challenged throughout American history. Every 4th Thursday of the month we will discuss what lies beneath these pages and engage in conversation about the importance of the freedom of reading, which is essential to our democracy. During our first meeting we will be discussing 1984 by George Orwell. Pick up a copy at the circulation desk!

Author Talk: L.S. Gagnon
Fall River Public Library 104 North Main St, Fall River, MALisi Gagnon is a local author who writes fantasy books using the penname L.S. Gagnon. She has written a series of books about a young witch named Thea and her books are popular with both adults and children. Last summer she competed in a fantasy book contest in California and won an award for her writing. Come hear her speak about her writing process and the characters in her books.

Participants are invited to bring their own decks or build their own with a selection of the hundreds of cards we have at the library. Don't know how to play? We'll be glad to show you how! This program is intended for teens ages 12 to 18. No prior experience with the game is required to participate. We'll be meeting in the Fell Reading Room in the library. *If the last Wednesday of the month falls on a holiday, the meetup will be rescheduled, probably to the week before.
