  • Preschool Storytime

    Preschool Storytime

    Join Children's Room staff for a fun morning of stories! Each storytime includes 30 minutes of stories from popular children's books followed by a short literacy-based movie and an easy-to-make craft.  Introduce your preschooler to the exciting world of children's literature! Recommended for ages 3 to 5.

  • Open Draw for Teens

    Open Draw for Teens

    Open Draw for Teens provides a space in the library every other Saturday for teens to draw and socialize with other creative peers! Every session we will have ample time to free draw, and occasionally will host workshops on paper crafts like making zines, flipbooks, pop-up comics, as well as assorted drawing exercises. Bring your sketchbooks, drawing pads, loose paper, old magazines, your favorite pens and pencils… whatever it is you use to draw! Some basic materials will also be available to use each session. For teens ages 13 - 18.

    Bill Harley travels the U.S and abroad to delight audiences with his original wit, heart-warming stories, songs and insights about the human experience. A two-time Grammy winner, he is vibrant, outrageous, unpredictable and genuine with songs and stories about growing up, schooling and what it is to be human—our connections with one another and with the planet we share. Families are invited to join us on the library lawn for this exciting musical performance! In the case of inclement weather, the event will be held in the meeting room. 

  • Chess Club

    Play a game of chess at the library! Chess players at all levels are invited to stop by on Saturday afternoons. Bring your own chess board and pieces, or we have some available at the desk.

  • Paint a Ceramic Craft!

    Fall River Public Library 104 North Main St, Fall River, MA

    Take your pick from caterpillars, butterflies, cows and more to decorate with acrylic paint!  These ceramic critters can be used as decoration for your room or banks to contain your hard-earned coins!  Disposable plastic smocks will be available but children are still encouraged to wear old clothes. Supplies are limited so parents are encouraged to call the Children's Room at 508-324-2700 ext. 4  to reserve a spot beginning Saturday, May 30.  Recommended for children ages 5 and up.

  • Sunglasses Chain Workshop

    Fall River Public Library 104 North Main St, Fall River, MA

    This is not your old summer camp beading program! Designed for adults, this relaxing activity invites participants to kick back on the library lawn while creating their own custom glass-beaded chain, the perfect accessory for sunglasses or reading glasses! In the event of inclement weather, the program will be moved to the Meeting Room. Supplies are limited; registration opens Monday, May 11th! 

  • LGBT Media Conversation Meet-Up

    Gamers unite for Teen Game Night!!! Every first Thursday of the month, teens are invited to the Fall River Public Library to play all sorts of collaborative and competitive multiplayer video games on the library projector. Show off your skills, learn about games new and old, and most importantly… have a blast!! For teens ages 13 - 18.
