• Chuck Prophet and His Cumbia Shoes

Narrows Center for the Arts 16 Anawan St., Fall River, MA

$45 Advance | $47 Day of showDoors 7pm | Show 8pm When a stage four lymphoma diagnosis forced him off the road and into the hospital, Chuck Prophet didn’t know if he’d live long enough to see the end of the year, let alone get back on tour. “I was going through a tunnel,” he recalls. “It was dark. But I had music: music to play, music to listen to, music to get me out of my head. Music was my savior.”That much is plain to hear on Wake The Dead, Prophet’s extraordinary new album. Recorded with band of brothers ¿Qiensave?, the collection explores the world of Cumbia music, which consumed and comforted Prophet during his illness and subsequent recovery. The songs are intoxicatingly rhythmic, all but demanding you move your body, with arrangements that blur the lines between tradition and innovation. There are flashes of rock and roll, punk, surf, and soul, all filtered through the streets of San Francisco and wrapped up in the rich legacy of a genre that traces its roots back to the jungles of South America. Captured live in the studio, Wake The Dead resumes Prophet’s streak of more than a dozen critically acclaimed […]

  • James McMurtry

Narrows Center for the Arts 16 Anawan St., Fall River, MA

$49 Advance | $51 Day of ShowDoors 7pm | Show 8pmOpener: BettySoo The Black Dog & the Wandering Boy A Lone Star sheriff hunts quail on horseback and keeps a secret second family. A mechanic lies among the spare parts on the floor of his garage and wonders if he can afford to keep his girlfriend. A troubled man sees hallucinations of a black dog and a wandering boy and hums “Weird Al” songs in his head. These are some of the strange and richly drawn characters who inhabit James McMurtry’s eleventh album, The Black Dog & the Wandering Boy. A supremely insightful and inventive storyteller, he teases vivid worlds out of small details, setting them to arrangements that have the elements of Americana—rolling guitars, barroom harmonies, traces of banjo and harmonica—but sound too sly and smart for such a general category. Funny and sad often in the same breath, the album adds a new chapter to a long career that has enjoyed a resurgence as young songwriters like Sarah Jarosz and Jason Isbell cite him as a formative influence. As varied as they are, these new story-songs find inspiration in scraps from his family’s past: a stray sketch, an old […]

  • Intro to Rebel Alchemy

418 Quequechan Street 418 Quequechan Street, Fall River, Massachusetts

Rescheduled due to SNOW to March 29th: Introduction to Rebel Alchemy: A 3-Hour WorkshopSunday, 1:00-4:00 PM You are not broken. You are broadcasting static. Your soul has an original signal—a unique frequency that is yours alone. But between birth and now, interference has layered on. Old narratives. Inherited beliefs. Trauma that bent your timeline. You've been transmitting through distortion for so long you forgot what clarity feels like. This workshop is where you remember. What You'll Experience: We're not here to talk about transformation. We're here to create it—live, in the room, in your body. Signal Awakening — You'll learn the physics of reality and the energetics of the self. Why observation shapes what's possible. How your consciousness is not a passive receiver but an active transmitter broadcasting into the field. This is the foundation everything else is built on. The Binding — You'll understand how a soul's signal gets corrupted. How darkness attaches. How the past doesn't stay in the past—it distorts your present and shapes your future until you walk back through it and transmute it. Resonance Tuning — You'll take your first steps into the core methodology. Guided journaling. Intentional sharing. Sound healing and tuning fork work […]
