  • 48th Annual Newport Navy Choristers “Christmas in Song” Concert

    First Baptist Church of Fall River 228 North Main Street, Fall River, United States

    First Baptist Church will be hosting a Christmas concert in the coming weeks. This concert has always benefitted worthy causes in our community. This year, the proceeds from the concert will benefit the Branch Community Supper and Homeless Ministries at First Baptist Church. Our feeding ministry is marking the 42nd anniversary of feeding those in need of a meal with no questions asked. In 2026, we expect to serve 13-15,000 meals, if not more. If you didn’t know, Newport Navy Choristers is a singing group of retired and active-duty members of the United States Navy and have been coming to First Baptist Church for 47 years. This concert will be held at our church on Sunday, December 7th at 4:00 pm. With the cost of groceries skyrocketing as well as housing costs, we have seen an increase in people showing up on Tuesdays and Thursdays in need of a nutritious meal. Secondly, higher food costs are putting pressure on our annual budget, forcing us to increase our efforts to raise the funds to cover all the costs of this outreach. You can help with our efforts.     Get ready for one of our favorite nights of the year! Join us as we celebrate the Christmas season with hot cocoa, cookies, and Christmas carols in our beautifully decorated main sanctuary. This year’s event will feature: Our CTR Worship Team Special Performances A Fun Group Sing-Along (with a few surprise guests!) Free Cookies & Cocoa served by our awesome Ignite Students It’s an evening for the whole family to enjoy together! Every family in attendance will receive a Christmas Devotional to go through together this holiday season. Bring your family, invite your friends, and help spread some Christmas cheer. This is our 6th year hosting this community favorite—a great, non-threatening way to invite someone to experience the joy of Christmas at CTR!  Let’s celebrate the reason for the season… together.     ***Must bring proof of employment at a restaurant/bar*** Calling all restaurant industry employees in the Fall River area - We all know the holidays are full of hustle and bustle. Let's get together for a good cause and a good time! Ticket includes a light buffet and one house margarita. Bring a toy and receive a drink voucher for an additional house margarita, glass of wine, or beer (one ticket max per person). Proceeds from all margaritas sold that night will be used to purchase additional toys for donation. All toys will be donated to Citizen for Citizens in Fall River, MA.     Thursday, December 11, 2025 $26 Advance | $28 Day of Show Doors 7pm | Show 8pm A little bit of soul and a whole lotta' rock ‘n’ roll! Reckoners is an all-star music group featuring some of the top players in the Boston music scene who have worked with and along side some of the best in the business. Fronting the group is the great Tim Gearan on vocals & guitar. Assembled and leading the band is the extraordinary guitarist Johnny Trama (Bettye LaVette, The Silks, Dub Apocalypse, The B3 Kings). Holding down the rhythm section on drums is the masterful Tom Arey (Peter Wolf, The J. Geils Band, G. Love). On bass is the one and only Marc Hickox (Bettye LaVette, Charlie Musselwhite), and on keyboards, the very talented Darby Wolf (Bettye LaVette, Rubblebucket). Paying homage to the roots of early soul and classic rock, their songs and vibe make you experience something new and original yet completely familiar.
