Vernal Pool Explorer Hike
Copicut Woods Indian Town Rd., Fall River, United StatesWhat’s a vernal pool? During this family-friendly hike, you’ll learn about these ephemeral wonders and investigate how nature changes in the spring season. Vernal pool hikes are extra special at Copicut Woods, where you can look and listen for woodpeckers at field edges and warblers in the thickets. You’ll also wander along Shockley trail and, deeper into the woods, past brooks and giant boulders, rock outcrops, and cellar holes. Magnifying glasses and binoculars will be provided to best appreciate the wildflowers, tadpoles, and other signs of spring! This program is part of a three-part Vernal Pool Explorers series at Copicut Woods. Participants are welcome to attend any number of sessions—each program works as a standalone experience or can be paired with two or three for a deeper exploration. There is no requirement to attend all sessions. Part 1: Sunday, April 19Part 2: Sunday, May 17Part 3: Sunday, June 7 First time at Copicut? February 22, 2026 Junior Space Science Investigator- Join us at Battleship Cove as we venture through our Solar System and beyond, and see that space is even bigger than you may have imagined. Girl Scouts will learn about our Solar System and the distance between planets. Additionally, because the planets are never alone in the night sky, Girl Scouts will learn about the stars above them and how sailors used the stars throughout the last centuries to navigate at night. Open to Juniors. Junior: Space Science Investigator Badge included. This does not include touring of the ship as this is an afterhours workshop. This is not a drop off event. Middle Grade Book Club
Fall River Public Library 104 North Main St, Fall River, MAThe Children’s Room invites our middle grade readers (ages 8-12) to join our monthly book club! On the third Tuesday of every month, we will meet to discuss the assigned title which will be chosen from a selection of popular fiction and nonfiction. Copies of the assigned title will be provided for members to keep! Each month’s title and any related materials will be announced and distributed at the end of the previous session.

Instead, everyone can share their own recommendations of a book they're enjoyed recently as we meet for general book chat and afternoon tea. Light refreshments will be served. Coastal Canvas Garden Art
Fall River Public Library 104 North Main St, Fall River, MAJoin Stephanie Enloe of Craftyish Shop to create a one-of-a-kind plant artwork on canvas. In this class, we will create our plant pots using seashells, sea glass and other natural materials. Next, we will paint them into plants with watercolors and fine point markers. Registration is required. Recommended for adults. This program is supported in part by a grant from the Fall River Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
