This statement is familiar to anyone who follows this critically acclaimed and GRAMMY-nominated singer-songwriter’s career. Since emerging in the 1990s as a pioneer of today’s Americana movement, Fulks has consistently explored different sounds, genres, and themes across 16 albums, performing on stages from the Grand Ole Opry and Late Night with Conan O’Brien to the Hollywood Bowl and Jimmy Kimmel Live with Steve Martin, Alison Brown, and Tim O’Brien. Instead, everyone can share their own recommendations of a book they're enjoyed recently as we meet for general book chat and afternoon tea. Light refreshments will be served. The Children’s Room invites our middle grade readers (ages 8-12) to join our monthly book club! On the third Tuesday of every month, we will meet to discuss the assigned title which will be chosen from a selection of popular fiction and nonfiction. Copies of the assigned title will be provided for members to keep! Each month’s title and any related materials will be announced and distributed at the end of the previous session.
Science fiction and fantasy lovers are invited to join us for our monthly book discussion group! On the third Thursday of each month, we will meet at 6 pm to talk about a different sci-fi or fantasy book, ranging from new titles to classics. Each month's selection will be announced on this calendar and at the previous meeting. In July, we are discussing The Goblin Emperor by Katherine Addison. Saturday, November 21, 2026 $43 Advance | $45 Day of Show Doors 7pm | Show 8pm Andy Falco and Travis Book are both members of the Grammy award winning bluegrass band The Infamous Stringdusters. Inspired by their love of the music of Jerry Garcia, the duo branches off on their own for occasional tours to celebrate Garcia’s timeless songs. “The project actually originated back stage at ‘Dusters shows where Travis and I would typically warm up with some fun Jerry songs” Falco explains. “At some point we just thought it would be fun to do it in public They draw from Garcia’s solo material, his Grateful Dead catalogue as well as the Traditional songs Jerry loved to play. “Performing this music as a duo allows us to explore the songs and jam in a way that’s unique to playing as a Duo” Says Book. “We typically hear these songs in larger ensembles, but the songs done with just bass and guitar somehow make the music very interactive with the audience. It’s really a testament to the quality of the songwriting, and we like to put a spotlight on that aspect of Jerry.”
The Fall River Public Library invites all photography enthusiasts to join our new Photography Group. On the last Wednesday of each month, participants will share their work, provide feedback, and join in open discussion about the wonderful art of photography! A monthly, optional theme will be picked at random to help inspire and prompt our members to make new and exciting work to share each session. Participants are asked to bring in a thumbdrive of their work, with a selection of 5-10 photos, if they intend to share with the group that month. While we gladly accept photographers at all stages of their journeys, the Photography Group does not offer photography lessons. We do encourage our participants to ask questions about photography, and to share tips and tricks they’ve learned with each other. This program is intended for photographers ages 13 and up.
Join The Banned Book Club - a place where we devour literature that has been historically challenged throughout American history. Every 4th Thursday of the month we will discuss what lies beneath these pages and engage in conversation about the importance of the freedom of reading, which is essential to our democracy. During our first meeting we will be discussing 1984 by George Orwell. Pick up a copy at the circulation desk!
