Get feedback on your work and meet local creatives at this Monthly Artists Share! group, facilitated by Midori Creativity. Artists Share! is a place to share your creative work, get support and feedback, and be part of a wonderful discussion. Hosted by Midori Creativity, we're all about cross-pollination welcoming painters, jewelry makers, fiber artists, photographers, musicians, scultptors and more. Our exhibit, Creative Catalysts, celebrates the interplay and creative exploration that happens when artists of different genres work together. Anyone is welcome and we take turns sharing. Sometimes we are looking at a body of work and other times we are talking about creative identity. The group meets every month, aiming to help each other progress and grow in our work by sharing and exploring together. It's a chance to learn from people whose work may be different from your own but who have insights you could never imagine. We laugh, share ideas, and have fun! Participants can also attend via Zoom. Learn more about the program at midoricreativity.com/artistsshare This program is supported in part by a grant from the New Bedford Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
Both returning and new members are invited to join us on the third Wednesday of each month for a different kind of book club--one with no required books to read! Instead, everyone can share their own recommendations of a book they're enjoyed recently as we meet for general book chat and afternoon tea. Light refreshments will be served. Bring your favorite teacup (if you want) and a book or two to share! For questions, contact Betsy Washburn at 508-324-2700 ext. 3.
Science fiction and fantasy lovers are invited to join us for our monthly book discussion group! On the third Thursday of each month, we will meet at 6 pm to talk about a different sci-fi or fantasy book, ranging from new titles to classics. Each month's selection will be announced on this calendar and at the previous meeting. For more information, contact Diana in the Reference Department, or email dfaulkner@sailsinc.org.
Join us for our 2025-2026 school year homeschool days. Check out our website for the schedule of workshops and timing. **Advanced ticket purchase required

On April 25th at 7pm and April 26th at 1:30pm, Ballet Rhode Island makes its first-ever appearance at Bristol Community College, bringing the contemporary ballet program Pure Dance to the Margaret L. Jackson Arts Center! Tickets here. Striking contrast and kinetic beauty define Pure Dance, a bold celebration of what ballet can be today - athletic, expressive, and deeply human. Designed for both first-time dancegoers and seasoned audiences, the program offers a dynamic journey through contemporary ballet that highlights the moving body as both instrument and storyteller. From the effervescent brilliance of George Balanchine’s Allegro Brillante, to the meditative intimacy of Christopher Wheeldon’s Liturgy, to the raw contemporary pulse of Yury Yanowsky’s Fading Creatures, Pure Dance reveals ballet as an art form that is alive, relevant, and accessible. Set to gorgeous music and performed by Ballet RI’s professional artists, this unforgettable experience is just a short drive away, and an open invitation to come along for the ride. Following each performance, audiences are invited to stay for a Meet the Ballerina experience, offering a rare opportunity to connect directly with the artists, ask questions, and gain insight into the creative process behind the performance. These post-show conversations are designed to […]
