Science fiction and fantasy lovers are invited to join us for our monthly book discussion group! On the third Thursday of each month, we will meet at 6 pm to talk about a different sci-fi or fantasy book, ranging from new titles to classics. Open Draw for Teens provides a space in the library every other Saturday for teens to draw and socialize with other creative peers! Every session we will have ample time to free draw, and occasionally will host workshops on paper crafts like making zines, flipbooks, pop-up comics, as well as assorted drawing exercises. Bring your sketchbooks, drawing pads, loose paper, old magazines, your favorite pens and pencils… whatever it is you use to draw! Some basic materials will also be available to use each session. For teens ages 13 - 18.
Join The Banned Book Club - a place where we devour literature that has been historically challenged throughout American history. Every 4th Thursday of the month we will discuss what lies beneath these pages and engage in conversation about the importance of the freedom of reading, which is essential to our democracy. During our first meeting we will be discussing 1984 by George Orwell. Pick up a copy at the circulation desk!
