Adults are invited to make an accordion book as a medium to display your art, illustrations, photographs or stories. We’ll go over basic tools of bookbinding and learn how to incorporate your own artwork in books. No prior experience necessary. Space is limited; registration is required. Recommended for adults. Main learning objective/take-aways of the class: 1.Familiarize with basic bookbinding tools and bookbinding terminology 2.Learn the intrinsic qualities of paper and folding. 3. Discover ways to tell stories through the art of the book.
Author, educator, and Screen Actors Guild actor Ted Zalewski, portrays Vincent Van Gogh's loyal friend the Postman, Joseph Roulin. He relates Van Gogh’s amazing personal and artistic journey from his native Holland to the south of France. Drawn from extensive research into van Gogh’s art, life and letters, Vincent: A Portrait by the Postman Roulin is filled with humor, passion, joie de vivre—and the triumph of an unlikely friendship.
Sponsored by the Fall River Public Library Writer’s Group, members have the opportunity to register for monthly feedback intensive sessions. Submit up to 30 pages for in-depth feedback from peers. You must attend at least three regular Writer’s Group meetings to be eligible for feedback intensives. Get ready for a fun-filled summer evening by the water! Bring the whole family to Fall River Family Kite Night on Thursday, June 18th from 5–8 PM at Norton City Pier (600 Davol Street). Enjoy a colorful night of flying kites along the waterfront, complete with free kite giveaways (while supplies last), food trucks, music, and plenty of space for kids and families to play, relax, and make memories together. This is a free, family-friendly community event and all ages are welcome. Come grab dinner, enjoy the breeze, and watch the sky fill with color as the sun sets over the pier.
