The Railroad a loosely connected network of people from diverse backgrounds who risked their lives to help enslaved individuals escape to freedom, right here in Fall River and New Bedford. Presented by the Bristol Black Collective, the New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park, and DCR.

In the city of textiles join us for an interactive and festive experience as we celebrate the Kwanzaa principle of Ujimaa (collective work and responsibility). This workshop is more than just creating a beautiful table runner – it's a chance to come together, share love, laughter, and delightful food while embodying the spirit of unity and shared responsibility. Don't miss out on this joyous occasion of creativity and community building! Participants will learn sewing and embroidery techniques while creating their specially designed table runner. The event is free and open to the public. Children ages 6+ must be accompanied by an adult.
