Fall River & New Bedford Take Center Stage in National Travel Series “Lost In”

FALL RIVER — Crews are rolling into the South Coast this week to film for the national TV series Lost In, and Fall River is one of the stars of the show.

From Aug. 11 through 13, host Christian Stevenson—better known as DJ BBQ—will be exploring the sights, flavors, and stories that make Fall River and Westport unforgettable. The episode, aptly titled LOST IN the Southeast Coast of Massachusetts, will showcase everything from local cuisine and culture to outdoor adventures and iconic landmarks.

According to Mariah Cardenas, associate producer with Bluewater Media, the goal of the series is simple: “We want what makes a town or city what it’s known for—where someone has to go, why they have to go there, why they have to try a certain place. It’s a guide to what makes an area so special.”

A Whirlwind Tour of Greater Fall River

DJ BBQ kicked off his 72-hour adventure on Monday with a warm welcome at the Gates of the City. Day 1 highlights included a scenic boat ride from Borden Light Marina, a taste of the waterfront at the new Morgan’s Cantina, and a deep dive into Fall River’s haunting history at the Lizzie Borden House—only the second paranormal site ever featured on the show.

The crew’s itinerary also includes:

  • Battleship Cove
  • Sagres Restaurant
  • Buzzards Bay Brewing in Westport

With a mix of upscale dining and beloved casual spots, the Lost In team aims to give viewers “a little something for everybody,” says Cardenas.

New Bedford in the Spotlight

Before landing in Fall River, DJ BBQ and his crew wrapped filming in New Bedford for the show’s sixth episode, produced in partnership with Explore New Bedford. That feature will highlight four homegrown favorites:

  • Goulart Square Bakery
  • PLAY Arcade
  • The Whale’s Tail Clam Bar
  • The Black Whale

The New Bedford visit also included a row in an Azorean whaleboat and a tour of the city’s working waterfront.

A National Stage for the South Coast

The Southeastern Massachusetts Visitors Bureau, a proud sponsor, helped guide producers to must-see locations across the region, focusing on history, cultural importance, and what matters most to locals.

With an audience that spans 130 broadcast markets and streaming platforms like Tubi and Amazon Prime, the show is expected to reach over 90 million households—a huge boost for local tourism, small businesses, and the South Coast’s cultural vibrancy.

As Cardenas puts it: “It’s a tourism board’s dream. They’re trying to draw people to their city, and that’s exactly what this show aims to do.”

Stay tuned for broadcast dates, and get ready to see Fall River, New Bedford, and the South Coast shining on screens across the country.
