In 2014, Fall River-born designer Shawn Thames launched an apparel line conveying his message of positivity with a T-shirt bearing a single word: “Blessed.” His next design was his way of shedding a positive light on the city where he grew up: “Raised By The River,” bearing an image of the Braga Bridge.

Parallel Lives: A Social History of Lizzie A. Borden and Her Fall River
Co-written by Fall River Historical Society Curator Michael Martins, here is the story of Lizzie Borden and Fall River, as it has never been told before. In Parallel Lives, a picture is woven of Fall River during the nineteenth and early-twentieth centuries, the city that Lizzie knew and called “home.” The authors were permitted unprecendented access to myriad resources pertaining to Lizzie held in private collections, including rare letters and photographs, personal reminiscences, and more. It is a breakthrough as a dual history of Fall River and its most infamous citizen.
