Getting there is half the fun! \n\n\n\n\nCome read a poem of your own creation OR a poem/excerpt of your favorite author (~5 minutes in length). \nBring your portable poetry & meet at the Westport Town Beach/Cherry & Webb parking lot. It is approximately a 1 mile walk each way along beautiful Horseneck Beach. \nDon’t have a Westport Beach Sticker? Email us to be picked up at 10:45am at Lee’s Market (park in back by the gazebo). \nDon’t forget a towel or blanket to relax on\, and a sun hat & sunscreen! \nAlternatively\, you may launch your paddleboard\, kayak\, or other small watercraft from a location of your choosing and meet us there! Shallow draft dinghies/motorboats can also be beached/anchored at the picnic site. The event is scheduled to begin with the outgoing tide & end with the incoming tide.

Sometimes we are looking at a body of work and other times we are talking about creative identity. Inspired by a time when the Blues were plentiful and rhythm reigned supreme\, Jontavious leverages his unique sound—a synthesis of his Georgia heritage and reverence for traditional Blues—to get the world dancing again. A Grammy-nominated musician and songwriter\, Jontavious performs original\, toe-tapping tunes in the style of Delta\, Piedmont\, Texas\, and Gospel Blues. Dynamic vocals\, technical prowess\, and an abundance of Southern charm keep Jontavious sending jolts of vitality through the Blues community.\nJontavious was born and raised in rural Georgia\, an environment with deep cultural roots that provides the inspiration he has continuously drawn upon to create his unique sound. He spent much of his childhood singing Gospel music at the Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church with his grandfather\, which provided him his first setting to perform for an audience.
