DESCRIPTION:Make a handmade stab bound book as a medium to display your art\, illustrations\, photographs or stories. We’ll go over basic tools of bookbinding and learn how to incorporate your own artwork in books. Participants are encouraged to bring their own writing or artwork (all same size) to bind or make a blank book to fill. No prior experience necessary. Space is limited; registration is required. Recommended for adults. \n\n\n\nMain learning objective/take-aways of the class: \n\n\n\n1.Familiarize with basic bookbinding tools and bookbinding terminology \n\n\n\n2.Learn the intrinsic qualities of paper and folding. \n\n\n\n3. Discover ways to tell stories through the art of the book.

Hosted by Midori Creativity\, we’re all about cross-pollination welcoming painters\, jewelry makers\, fiber artists\, photographers\, musicians\, scultptors and more. Our exhibit\, Creative Catalysts\, celebrates the interplay and creative exploration that happens when artists of different genres work together. \nAnyone is welcome and we take turns sharing. Sometimes we are looking at a body of work and other times we are talking about creative identity. The group meets every month\, aiming to help each other progress and grow in our work by sharing and exploring together.
