This gives her an unshakably righteous attitude\, but she also has the manic cheerfulness of the newly saved. \n\n\n\nMISS DEEP SOUTH\, LAURINDA SUMMERFORD – The Southerner in the show; even though others may have fabulous hair\, only she knows how to work it. At the same time she is The Lady. She has a very narrow and ritualized sense of “femininity\,” which is frequently outraged by the other contestants’ behavior and attitudes. She is exceedingly funny in her passive-aggressive Southern attitude. \n\n\n\nMISS GREAT PLAINS\, BONNIE LOUISE CUTLETT – Utterly sincere in her belief in the values promoted by Glamouresse\, though some of them seem quite exotic to her. She is honored to represent the great heartland of this nation and to show what honest country folk can do. In the present contest she is agape and aglow. Not necessarily the “prettiest” contestant. \n\n\n\nMISS INDUSTRIAL NORTHEAST\, CONSUELA MANUELA RAFAELLA LOPEZ – Included among the regional winners mostly due to Glamouresse’s belated sense that “the times they are a-changin’” and the Northeast’s notable lack of interest in the contest. She is feisty. Her talent has been culled from watching the variety show Sabado Gigante on Spanish television. \n\n\n\nMISS TEXAS\, KITTY-BOB AMES – The professional of the group. With her father’s money and a shrewd selection of contests\, she has never lost a competition. Her skills may not be outstanding by themselves\, but her attitude says “Winner” all the way. \n\n\n\nMISS WEST COAST\, KARMA QUINN – Like Miss Great Plains\, she is sweet-natured\, but Karma is a lot less focused. She has tried to parlay her vagueness and “I’ll try anything once” attitude into a comprehensive mystical spirituality\, but it hasn’t gelled. This pageant is the most structured event of her entire life. \n\n\n\nFRANKIE CAVALIER – Our genial host is certainly that. Frankie is a celebrity who is known to the audience where the pageant is being performed\, perhaps as a weekend weather-report reader or a spokesman for a used car dealership. Think Martin Short meets Bert Parks meets Regis Philbin meets Rip Torn. Strong singer who moves well.

Raised in Muskegon\, MI\, he immersed himself in community theatre\, numerous school choirs and productions\, and classic rock fueled boat shed jams. A collegiate endeavor in English Literature lead to Kalamazoo\, MI which catalyzed the formation and became the home base for Greensky. Vernal pool hikes are extra special at Copicut Woods\, where you can look and listen for woodpeckers at field edges and warblers in the thickets. You’ll also wander along Shockley trail and\, deeper into the woods\, past brooks and giant boulders\, rock outcrops\, and cellar holes. Magnifying glasses and binoculars will be provided to best appreciate the wildflowers\, tadpoles\, and other signs of spring! \n\n\n\nThis program is part of a three-part Vernal Pool Explorers series at Copicut Woods. Participants are welcome to attend any number of sessions—each program works as a standalone experience or can be paired with two or three for a deeper exploration. There is no requirement to attend all sessions. \n\n\n\nPart 1: Sunday\, April 19Part 2: Sunday\, May 17Part 3: Sunday\, June 7 \n\n\n\nFirst time at Copicut? This will be an easy to moderate walk along dirt trails with slight inclines in some areas. You can expect semi-rocky terrain and exposed roots in some areas of the trail. The path taken will be determined based on where we are most likely to hear or see wildlife and find vernal pools. Parking is available at the entrance to the trailhead. \n\n\n\nPre-registration is required for this event.
