18th Century Market Faire (Blanket Sale) - Come to sell or buy your unwanted items (gently used). A recreated 18th Century Market Faire for the day at the Lafayette-Durfee House in Fall River. Come and visit Living Historians as they sell and trade their wares. Held inside the Lafayette-Durfee House and behind the house if the weather cooperates. Stop by to see what others may be selling to make room in their closets. Sutlers are welcome. If you make any 18th Century apparel, accessories, and edible goods, please consider selling at the house for a day. No fees or charges for selling. Stop by just to mingle and see friends.

A Day in the Life of a Whaling Voyage

Join Nancy Gentile of the New Bedford Whaling Museum and Capt. Michael Taylor, a British merchant mariner, for "A Day in the Life of a Whaling Voyage," an illustrated presentation that takes you into the world of a 19th-century New England whale ship. Learn what life was like aboard these mighty whaling vessels, watch a real-life demonstration of the harpoons that whalers used, and see baleen taken from the massive jaws of a whale.
