Through our diverse perceptive and cultural lenses, we seek to clarify phenomena: sometimes in words on a page, sometimes in images on screens, but most often through the synapses and electromagnetic energy that form as only thoughts within the human psyche. Despite the multitude of thoughts that frequent our perceptive and cognitive realms, on a daily basis, many do not manifest in material or artistic form. This group exhibition features plants, drawings, paintings, tools, maps, and discovery devices. It shines a light on the artistic process of observing plant growth and offers space for visitors to draw their own conclusions.
The exhibition space will transform into an artistic and educational laboratory. We will host various programs related to the observations and ecosystem services of Fall River. In addition to the live exhibition featuring plants, school desks, and drawing tools, the museum will host select lectures by artists and educators.
Join FR MoCA, Free and Open to the public : February 23rd from 5-8pm for Plant/ED: Drawing from Observation our second exhibition at 44 Troy St., where we use Art to transform ideas of a native plant nursery into an educational space within a contemporary art museum. Discover how these energies, integral to our artistic reality, can be harnessed for healing and diagnostic purposes.
