Pies, Pies, Pies! 18th Century Hearth Cooking
February 19 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pmFree
As the autumnal harvest was being brought in, the season for celebrations was on hand. The best way to celebrate the harvest and the coming holidays was through making pies. Able to be made days ahead of a celebration and a great way to preserve foods, pies are an integral part of 18th century New England harvest culture.
Please join us as we bake several sweet and savory pies, fruit tarts and puff pastes, with Foodways Historian Stacy Booth, and discuss the importance and delicious 18th century history of pies.
