Fourth Annual Imbolc / Candlemas
February 4 @ 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm

In Celebration of our Fourth Annual Imbolc/Candlemas we invite you to a viewing of “Unseen Tapestry”. Our innovative, visually rich theatrical production combines puppetry, music, poetry, and dance to celebrate Imbolc, a midwinter festival dating back to ancient times that kindles our hopes for spring. Presented by a multicultural gender-diverse group of performers, it will be streamed live on Facebook as it takes place at The Heron Studio in Fall River, telling a story of hopes, dreams, and renewal.
This event will feature engaging large-scale clay puppets that we will create drawing on the expertise of lead collaborator Hooly J. Chan, who apprenticed in the 2022 summer program at Bread and Puppet, the internationally acclaimed Vermont puppet theater. We aim to break the barriers between what is “onstage” and what is “observed” as we invite the audience to interact in a playful way and impress the idea that we are all in this life together.
This program is supported in part by a grant from the Fall River Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
