2023 Fall USS Massachusetts Volunteer Field Day

Would you like to help preserve history in a BIG way? Spend a day volunteering on BIG MAMIE, YOUR beloved World War II battleship!
We are re-launching our volunteer restoration day events, and we would love to welcome you aboard! Just like those of WWII sailors, our “field days” will include cleaning, scraping, and plenty of gray paint!
No experience is needed and all tools and equipment will be provided to accomplish the work. Please note that most projects will be outside and include restoration on the superstructure and main deck levels of this South Dakota-class battleship. Work clothes, hat, adequate footwear, work gloves, and personal protective equipment you might have and be comfortable with is recommended.
If you have a skill such as welding, plumbing, or metalworking, please let us know.
